Mandarin Ear
Monthly Donut Race Official Rules
These Official Rules govern participation in the Mandarin Ear Monthly Donut Race, a skill-based monthly learning challenge.
Effective August 31, 2026 · Updated August 31, 2026
1. Sponsor and Administrator
The Monthly Donut Race is sponsored and administered by Mandarin Ear (the “Sponsor”). Questions about the Race or these Official Rules may be sent to hi@dictly.live.
2. Eligibility
The Race is open to registered Mandarin Ear users who are at least 13 years old and legally permitted to participate in their place of residence. If local law requires a parent or guardian’s permission, the participant must obtain it before participating. The Race is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Each person may participate through one account. The account must remain in good standing through the end of the applicable Race period and award verification.
3. Race Period
Each Race begins at 00:00:00 UTC on the first day of a calendar month and ends at 23:59:59 UTC on the final day of that month. Mandarin Ear’s servers are the official timekeeping system for the Race.
4. How to Enter and Earn XP
No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. A registered user enters a monthly Race by earning qualifying XP during that Race period.
Qualifying XP is XP successfully awarded by Mandarin Ear’s servers for completed Listen & Type Challenges and completed Listen & Choose quizzes. Only XP whose completion and award are successfully finalized during the applicable UTC Race period counts toward that month’s ranking. Opening or refreshing the leaderboard does not create XP or an entry.
5. Ranking and Tie-Breaking
Participants are ranked from highest to lowest qualifying XP. The 10 eligible participants with the highest final rankings at the end of the Race period are the potential winners.
If two or more participants have the same qualifying XP, Mandarin Ear applies a fixed, deterministic order generated for that month from each account’s internal identifier. The tie-break does not depend on when a participant reached the tied XP total, does not expose the internal identifier, and cannot be selected or changed by a participant.
6. Virtual Prize
Each verified winner receives one copy of the virtual donut collectible designated for that Race month. The collectible is an in-service digital recognition item only. It has no cash or real-world monetary value, is not transferable, cannot be sold or exchanged through Mandarin Ear, and is not redeemable for cash, goods, services, or another prize.
A participant may receive no more than one copy of the monthly donut collectible for a single Race period. Awards are subject to eligibility and compliance verification and become permanent in the winner’s Mandarin Ear account after settlement.
7. Leaderboard Identity
The leaderboard displays a participant’s current Mandarin Ear nickname, Adventurer avatar, rank, and monthly XP to other signed-in users. It does not display email addresses or authentication metadata. By participating, users acknowledge this limited public display within Mandarin Ear.
8. Fair Play and Disqualification
Participants must not automate activity, exploit defects, manipulate XP, create or coordinate duplicate accounts, interfere with other participants, or otherwise obtain an unfair advantage. The Sponsor may investigate suspicious activity, remove invalid XP, disqualify a participant, withhold or revoke a collectible, or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to protect the integrity of the Race or enforce the Terms of Service.
9. Technical Issues and Corrections
The Sponsor may correct leaderboard, scoring, settlement, or award errors that result from outages, delayed processing, corrupted data, fraud, or technical defects. If an event outside the Sponsor’s reasonable control materially compromises a Race, the Sponsor may pause, modify, extend, or cancel the affected Race as reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law. Any material change will be communicated through Mandarin Ear where practical.
10. Apple Disclaimer
Apple is not a sponsor of, affiliated with, or involved in the Monthly Donut Race in any manner.
11. Law, Disputes, and Contact
The Race and these Official Rules are subject to applicable law and the Mandarin Ear Terms of Service. Questions or disputes should first be raised in good faith by contacting hi@dictly.live. If they cannot be resolved informally, either party may seek relief in a competent forum with jurisdiction under applicable law.
